Newton's first law of motion states that , an object does not change it's state of rest or motion until an external force acts on it .
Newton's second law of motion states that the acceleration of an object is the ratio of the net force acting on the object to the mass of the object , that is a = F m . Thus the acceleration is inversely proportional to the mass of the object , that is , a 1 m . Thus lighter object will have greater acceleration , thus it moves faster .
Newton's third law of motion , states that for every action there will be equal and opposite reaction force .
Thus the correct answer is Newton's second law.
