Ok the difference is simple, By using the quadratic formula you need to know what it means...because it x = b + b 2 4 a c / 2 a, this will give you two sets of answers and you will just set both to zero and solve for x...
Using the method of completting the square you just square bx...and do for both sides and solve for x...Completing the square is probably most efficient if your doing a test because its quite simple as opposed to the quadratic formula. Competing the squarejust helps for finding x whether it be for a projectile motion..or whatever it be..
Both methods are good to know!
f ( x ) = a x 2 B x + c..Ok this is the standard form on the quadratic equation...completing the square refers to bx here...andso forth and when using the completing the square method make sureto put c on the other side of the equation when you set this equation equal to zero.
