Let x be the amount the sales person sells is merchandise so that her commisiion is 0.12x. Her earning a day plus the commission is eqaul to 76.88

So the eqautions: 50+0.12x=76.88

Subtract 50 from both sides: 0.12x=26.88

Divide both sides by 0.12:x=26.880.12x=224

So the sales person sold an amount of x=224
