Population is the set of all objects of interest. Sample is s subset of the population.
It is not practically possible to study the entire population if the population is very large. In such situations a sample will be drawn from the population and inferences about the population is made. There are many method are there in statistics for sampling.
In stratified random sampling the population is subdivided into sub populations or strata (units in the strata will be homogeneous in nature) and a sample is taken from each of of the strata and combine all these samples together to form the main sample.
In this scenario person H is interested in studying the ratio of the various colors of sprinkles on LL donuts. Here the population is the set of all donuts. It is known that there are different types of donuts and person H selected 3 from each varieties of donut and studied. Here the entire population of donuts is divided into sub populations (or strata) of different varieties of donuts and taken a sample of equal size from each of the subpopulations. This is a procedure of stratified random sampling and option 1 stratified is the correct answer.
In simple random sampling, a sample is drawn from the entire population and no sub populations will be considered and hence it is not simple random sampling.
