since plane 1 flies 20 km/h faster thus
x+20
plane 2: is just x
their displacement are at the same time so
(x+20)+x
=2x+20
then after 4 hours they are 6000km apart
4[2x+20]=6000
4[2x+20]=6000
8x+80=6000
8x=6000-80
8x=5920
x=5920/8
x=740
plane 1:
x+20=740+20=760
760 km/h
plane 2:
740 km/h

Let 2 n d jet be moving with the speed of ' v' km/ h in west, then
The speed of 1 s t jet will be (v + 20) km/h ineast direction.
Now the distance moved in west direction by 2 n d jet in 4 hours, d 2 = v km /h * 4 h
= 4 v km
Again the distance moved in east direction by 1 s t jet in 4 hours, d 1 = ( v + 20 ) km /h * 4 h
= (4v + 80) km
Now, according to the problem,
The separation between two jets in 4 hours = 6000km
Or, d 1 + d 2 = 6000 k m
Or, 4 v km + (4v + 80) km = 6000km
Or, 8 v + 80 = 6000
Or, the speed of 2 n d jet v = 740 km /h in west
Now the speed of 1 s t jet = (v + 20) km/h ineast direction.
= ( 740 + 20 ) km /h
= 760 km/ h in east
