For this question, first add 5 to both sides of the equation toget:
3 x 2 = 25
Now, we need to isolate for x alone by dividing both sides ofthe equation by 3 to get:
x 2 = 25 3
At this point, we isolate for x alone by now taking the squareroot of both sides of the equation to get:
x = ± 25 3
NOTE: We need the ± symbol since squaring apositive or negative number always gives a postive result.
