The pizzas baked by the Pizzeria are round and have a 20 inch diameter. The top of the pizza may be consideblack to be a circle with 20 inch diameter. Since the radius is half of the diameter, the radius of the circle( pizza top) is 20/2 = 10 inches. Now, we know that the area of a circle with radius r is π r 2 . Therefore, the area of the circle( pizza top) is π ( 10 ) 2 or 100 π sq. inches.
The exact area of the circle( pizza top) is 100 π sq. inches.
The approximate area is 100*3.14 = 314 sq. inches ( as π = 3.14).
