Second got twice the money as the first
So, let first have got x
So, second got 2x dollars
the third got triple the second
So, third got 3 2 x = 6 x dollars
Now, together they have 1440
So, x + 2 x + 6 x = 1440 9 x = 1440 x = 1440 9 x = 160
