A majorette in a parade is performing some acrobatic twirlingsof her baton. Assume that the baton is a uniform rod of mass 0.120 kg and length 80.0 cm.
With a skillful move, the majorette changes the rotation ofher baton so that now it is spinning about an axis passing throughits end at the same angular velocity 3.00 rad/s as before. What is the new angularmomentum of the rod?

The gas mileage for a certain vehicle can be approximated by m = -0.04x^2 + 3.6x - 49, where x is the speed of the vehicle in mph. Determine the speed(s) at which the car gets 30 mpg. Round to the nearest mph.

Protons (as opposed to neutrons) to mediate nuclear fission?
I am just wondering why are protons (as opposed to neutrons) not used to mediate nuclear fission? Is it because it is charged, so we will have to input more unnecessary energy to overcome the Coulomb force?

This might sound silly. But we always talk about nuclear fusion in stars and I have always wondered why this process happens at all.
Is it inevitable for fusion to happen at the temperature and pressure present in a star?

I have one vector and its components given a particular frame of reference ( A x , A y , A z ). I have a second vector's components that is computed in a different frame of reference ( B x , B y , B z ) and I need the dot product between these two vectors. I can't simply take the dot product (i.e., A B = A x B x + A y B y + A z B z ) because the two vector's components are computed with different orientations in mind.
Given that there is no way to orient one vector to match the frame of reference of the other vector, is there a way I can still get a dot product?

Give the reasons of:
1. In a cavity laser, a beam could be transmitted through the cell without being distorted by the cell wall.
2. The statistical weight for most levels are essentially the in dense material.
3. Homogeneous broading.
