The distance formula is of the form:
d 2 = ( Δ x 2 ) + ( Δ y ) 2 + ( Δ z ) 2 where Δ stands for "change in"
Or the difference between one and the other.
Just we just fill in the x,y,z co-ordinates:
d 2 = ( - 2 - 5 ) 2 + ( 2 - - 6 ) 2 + ( 6 - 4 ) 2
d 2 = ( - 7 ) 2 + ( 8 ) 2 + ( 2 ) 2 = 49 + 64 + 4 = 117
And the distance d is the square root of this:
d = 117 10.82
