How should I express one log in terms of others?
Can someone please help me with this logarithmic question? I know it’s easy, but I need to refresh my memory on how to do it.
If X = log 2 and Y = log 3, express log 0.6 in terms of X and Y (assume all logs have a base of 10).

All you need to know is log ( a b ) = log a + log b. Then,
log 0.6 = log ( 2 × 3 × 1 10 ) = log 2 + log 3 + log 1 10 = X + Y 1.

Limit of log with factor
Problem
If
lim n f ( n ) log n log log n = y
where f is some function, does this imply that
lim n f ( n ) log ( x n ) log log n = y
for some x O ( 1 )? Or does this give another Limit y?
Progress
For y = 0 or y = ± , I think, this factor x should not change anything, but for y ( , 0 ) ( 0 , ), I think this Limit should change, shouldn't it?

What are logarithms?
I have heard of logarithms, and done very little research at all. From that little bit of research I found out its in algebra 2. Sadly to say, I'm going into 9th grade, but yet I'm learning [calculus!?] and I don't know what a logarithm is! I find it in many places now. I deem it important to know what a logarithm is even though I'm jumping the gun in a sense. My understanding of concepts, is just like that of programming. In the mean time, you know its there, and your ITCHING SO HARD to find out what that is, but nope! For now we use it, tomorrow we learn what it does.
I just know that to identify a logarithm at my level, I just look for a log. :P

Logarithm problem : Prove that l o g 3 2 1 2 > 0
My approach :
l o g 3 2 1 2 > 0
1 2 l o g 3 1 2 > 0
1 2 [ l o g 3 1 l o g 3 2 ] > 0
1 2 [ 0 l o g 3 2 ] > 0
1 2 [ l o g 3 2 ] > 0 { which is false}
Please suggest... thanks...

Proof that lim x x log ( x + 1 x + 10 )
Given this limit:
lim x x log ( x + 1 x + 10 )
I may use this trick:
x + 1 x + 1 = x + 1 x x x + 10
So I will have:
lim x x ( log ( x + 1 x ) + log ( x x + 10 ) ) =
= 1 + lim x x log ( x x + 10 )
But from here I am lost, I still can't make it look like a fondamental limit. How to solve it?
