Step 1
If y = e + d x , then d x + y = e . So let a = d , b = 1 and c = e . Then we have a x + b y = c . When a x + b y = c , we have b y = c a x , so y = c b a b x . So let e = c b and d = a b and we have y = e + d x . This shows both ways.
