Given the vertices of the parallelogram

A(0,1), B(3,0), C(5,-2), D(2,-1)

for the parallelogram with points

A(0,1), B(3,0), C(5,-2), D(2,-1)

Let a=DC=(5,-2)-(2,-1)

=(3,-1)

and b=AD=(2,-1)-(0,1)=(2,-2)

Note, the Are of the parallelogram (A)=|a×b|

a=(3,-1) and b=(2,-2)

a×b=ijk3-102-20=i(0)-j(0)+k(-6+2)=-4k

So, a×b=0i+0j-4k

and |a×b|=(0)2+(0)2+(4)2=16=4

Answer: 4
