The gravitational force acting on the satellite is perpendicular to the direction of velocity of the satellite.
Write the expression for the work done by the force.
W g r a v i t y = F g d cos θ           [ θ = 90 ] = F g d cos 90 = 0
Step 2
According to Work energy theorem the work done is equal to the change in kinetic energy of the satellite.
Δ K = W g r a v i t y = 0 K f K i = 0 1 2 m v f 2 = 1 2 m v i 2 v f = v i
Step 3
Hence the kinetic energy of the satellite is constant, thus the speed of the satellite is a constant.
