cosAcosB=2sin(A+B2)sin(BA2)
and
sinA+sinB=2sin(A+B2)cos(AB2)
Now we have
cos7xcosx+sin3xsin7x+sinxcos3x=tan3x
LHS=(cos7xcosx)+sin3x(sin7x+sinx)cos3x
=2sin4xsin(3x)+sin3x2sin4xcos3xcos3x
=sin3x(2sin4x1)cos3x(2sin4x1)=sin3xcos3x=tan3x=RHS
