The length of a rectangle is 3 ft longer than its width. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 46 ft, find its area.

Let the width of rectangle be x
Thus, the length of rectangle is 3+x
Perimeter =46ft
Now, we have
2(2+ω)=46
2(x+3+x)=46
2x+3=23
2x=20
x=10
l=13,ω=10
Area=l×ω=13×10=130ft2
