Provide an explanation of how you would measure alcohol use (a) using a NOMINAL level of measurement, (b) an ORDINAL level of measurement, or a (c) RATIO level of measurement. For each explanation, give examples of the type of question you would use to measure alcohol use, making clear how each example is indeed using that particular scale of measurement.

Nominal scale is used for labeling variables into distinct classifications. It is also called as the categorical scale
Ordinal scale is used for depicting the order of variables. This scale is generally used to depict ideas such as frequency, satisfaction, etc.
Ratio scale includes the characteristics of three other variable measurement scales, like labeling the variables, the significance of the order and a calculable difference between variables
For example, a researcher asks the students,
1) During the past 10 days, how many days did you drink
2) choose the alcohol brands that you prefer most of the times
3) How satisfied are you with the particular brand
For question 1, we can use ratio scale of measurement
for question 2, we can use nominal scale of measurement
for question 3, we can use ordinal scale of measurement
