I am trying to factorize an expression in terms of x3x2+8x+2.

The factorised form of ax2+bx+c will be a(xr1)(xr2) where r1,r2 are the two roots (which may be equal). You're forgetting the lead coefficient.

(xa)(xb) gives you the equation but with the leading coefficient one. You can use the formula k(xa)(xb) where k is that number that when multiplied to the full expression removes the denominator.
