Hypotheses
In a parametric tests, the hypotheses are about parameters like whether the population means are equal or population variances. Whereas in a Chi-square test, we don’t have any parameters, there we check whether any relation exists between two variables or not.
Data
For parametric test, level of measurement is at least interval scale
For chi-square test, level of measurement is ordinal or nominal data.
Assumptions
In a parametric test, samples come from a population that are normally distributed whereas in non-parametric statistical test it is not require to have samples from normal distribution.
