Quantitative data:

Qualitative data:
Qualitative data categorize (nominal scale) and ranks (ordinal scale) the variable and it cannot measures the data. Some examples are colors, names, types, rankings, etc.
Here, the salaries of all the governors can be measured (in currency). Therefore, the data are quantitative because they consist of counts or measurements.
