and
sin3θ=sin(2θ+θ)
=sin2θcosθ+sinθcos2θ
=2sinθcos2θ+sinθ(2cos2θ1)
to write the identity
sin2π5=sin(π2π5)=sin3π5
as
2sinπ5cosπ5=2sinπ5cos2π5+sinπ5(2cos2π51) (1)
Cancelling the term sinπ50 from both sides of equation (1) gives:
