Total number of students is, N=40.
Number of students taken Numerical subject is, n(A)=14.
Number of students taken Discrete Math subject is, n(B)=29.
The objective is,
1.To find number of students in neither class, If five students are in both classes, n(AB)=5
2.To find number of students in either class.
3.To find number of students taking only the Discrete Math class.

The number of students in neither class can be calculated as,
n(neither class)=N[n(A)+n(B)n(AB)]
+40[14+295]
=4038
=2
Hence, the number of students in neither class is 2.
2)
The number of students in either class can be calculated as,
n(either class)===N-n(neither class)40-238 Hence, the number of students in either class is 38.
3)
The number of students taking only the Discrete Math class can be calculated as,
n(onlyB)=n(B)n(AB) =29-5
=24
Hence, the number of students taking only the Discrete Math class is 24.
