I am thinking of a number. If I divide the number by 6, I have a remainder of 4. If I divide the number by 8, I have a remainder of 6. What is the smallest possible number?

The number ÷6 remainder of 4
So: something×6+remainder of 4=the numbers
2×6=12+4=16
3×6=18+4=22
4×6=24+4=28
Step 2
The number ÷8 remainder of 6
So: something×8+remainder of 6=the number
2×8+6=22
Step 3
The least number is 22
The use of the word smallest produces problems mathematically. It is not good practice to use smallest.
