(sinθ+cosθ)2=1+2cosθsinθ=1+2k2
On the other hand, (sinθ+cosθ)2=32, hence
1+2k2=32
namely
2k2=12k=24
Notice that this solution is acceptable. Since both sinθ  and  cosθ are bounded by one, hence their product is subject to the same bound.
