Step 1
Given: I=x+1x2+2xdx
for evaluating given integral, we substitute
x2+2x=t...(1)
now, differentiating equation (1) with respect to x
ddx(x2+2x)=ddx(t)
ddx(x2)+2ddx(x)=dtdx   (ddx(xn)=nxn1)
2x+2(1)=dtdx
2x+2=dtdx
2(x+1)=dtdx
(x+1)dx=dt2
Step 2
now, replacing (x+1)dx with dt2,(x2+2x) with t in given integral
so,
x+1x2+2xdx=12dtt   (dtt=ln|t|+c)
=12ln|t|+c...(2)
now replacing t with (x2+2x) in equation (2)
so,
x+1x2+2xdx=12ln|x2+2x|+c
hence, given integral is equal to 12ln|x2+2x|+c.
