Consider a triangle and cut a slice of it

From the Pyhagoras theorem

$a}^{2}={h}^{2}+\frac{{a}^{2}}{4$

$h}^{2}={a}^{2}-\frac{{a}^{2}}{4}=\frac{3}{4}{a}^{2$

So,$h=a\sqrt{\frac{3}{4}}=a\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}$
