Consider a triangle and cut a slice of it
From the Pyhagoras theorem
${a}^{2}={h}^{2}+\frac{{a}^{2}}{4}$
${h}^{2}={a}^{2}-\frac{{a}^{2}}{4}=\frac{3}{4}{a}^{2}$
So, $h=a\sqrt{\frac{3}{4}}=a\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}$
Now, from trigonometry:
$h=a\mathrm{sin}60$
$a\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}=a\mathrm{sin}60$
$⇒\mathrm{sin}60=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}$
