Firstly, do the inner parenthesis:
4-2(x+2)=4-2x+4=8-2x
Then we have:
2(8-2x)=16-4x
4x+16-4x=2x-4
16=2x-4
16+4=2x
20=2x
10=x
An reverse x=10.

4x+2[4-2(x+2)]=2x-4
4x+2[4-2x+4]=2x-4
4x+2[8-2x]=2x-4
4x+16-4x=2x-4
16=2x-4
-2x=-4-16
-2x=-20
-x=-10
x=10
