Given r=1+cos(0)
replace 0 with -0, if an equivalent equation results, the graph is symmetric to x-axis.
replace (r,0) with (-r,-0), if an equivalent equation results, the graph is symmetric to y-axis.
Since
r=1+cos(0)
=1+cos(0)
Then
r=1+cos(0)
Hence the curve is symmetric with respect to x-axis
Result:
curve is symmetric with respect to x-axis
