Step 1
Probability is a branch in mathematics or statistics which basically deals with the chances of happening an event. The value of probability is always lies between 0 and 1.
Sample space is an important term in probability. Sample space consists of all the possible outcomes.
Step 2
It is known that the sample space is the set of all possible outcomes of a random experiment. Every event is a subset of its sample space.
1) Bit errors are the errors happens in the bits during its transmission. That is, when the actual bit is 010 and the received bit after an electric transmission is 000, there happened one bit error (1 changed to 0).
Thus, for a 6 bit data, there can be 0 bit errors, 1 errors,... 6 errors. That is, from 0 to 6 bit errors are possible for a 6 bit data.
Thus, the sample space is given below.
S={0,1,2,3,4,5,6}
Step 3
2) Here, the experiment is to generate a random number between 0 and 1.
Here, the sample space consists of all the numbers between 0 and 1. There are infinitely many numbers between 0 and 1. Thus, the sample space is infinite here and it consists of all the numbers between 0 and 1.
