Given that, the conic equation is r=21+cosθ
Compare this equation r=21+cosθ with r=ek1+ecosθ
Here, the value of eccentricity e is 1. The value of directrix k is 2.
From above statement, it is observed that the equation r=21+cosθ represents parabola with k = 2 directrix to the right side of the pole.
Due to positive sign in denominator the parabola opens to the left along the polar axis and p=1.

From above figure, it is observed that the vertex is (1,0).
