For the first expression GCF of the denominators, 3 and 2 is 6
So We have to multiply the first equation by 6.
x3+12=1
6(x3+12)=6(1)
6(x3)+6(12)=6
2x+3=6
Step 2
For the second expression GCF of the denominators, x and 2 is 2x.
So We have to multiply the second equation by 2x
3x+12=1
2x(3x+12)=2x(1)
2x(3x)+2x(12)=2x
6x+x=2x
Answer: We multiply the first one by 6 and the second one by 2x. This is the difference.
