Step 1
A bag contains three red balls numbered 1,2,3 and six white balls numbered 4,5,6,7,8, and 9.
(a) The total number of balls is 9.
Find the probability of red and even numbered balls.
Set of red and even numbered balls =2.
P=Number of outcomesTotal outcomes
P=19
Step 2
(b) The total number of balls is 9.
Find the probability of red or even numbered balls.
Set of red or even numbered balls=1,2,3,4,6,8.
P=Number of outcomesTotal outcomes
P=69
P=23
Step 3
(c) The total number of balls is 9.
Find the probability of white or odd numbered balls.
Set of white or odd numbered balls=1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9.
P=Number of outcomesTotal outcomes
P=89

Partial Fraction Decomposition??
How do I separate this by partial fraction decomposition?
1 u ( u 2 + 1 ) d u
I've used the normal technique and got to:
1 = A ( u 2 + 1 ) + B ( u )
1 = A ( u 2 + 1 ) + B ( u )
and A = 1 if u = 0 BUT how do I find B now? because I can't make u 2 + 1 equal to 0.

Finding out how out how much is 100%
I know 14% is 41. So how much is 100%? I know it is simple math, but... you know how it is being out of school for a few years. If at all possible, I'd like to see the equation too.

Rearranging equation
I'm reading a textbook in which an equation is rearranged and I'm failing to see how they've done it. I've tried writing it down step by step in my notebook but can't come up with the right answer. It's frustrating because I'm trying to learn calculus and differential equations - something left out of my education. After reading, I understand the idea behind calculus and what is being done and what it means, but I'm bad and working individual examples out.
It's a differential equation with the output set to 0 to find the initial value of x 0
r 0 ( 1 x 0 k 0 ) d 0 = 0
Rearranges to
x 0 = k 0 r 0 ( r 0 d 0 )
It's the part with the fraction in the brackets that's throwing me, I can sort of see where they got ( r 0 d 0 ) from.
I think to start with I need to get rid of the brackets so as:
r 0 r 0 x 0 r 0 k 0 d 0 = 0
Then I think the r 0 on the top and bottom cancel?
r 0 x 0 k 0 d 0 = 0
But I'm really not sure.
Thanks,

Is it possible to rationalize a denominator containing two cube roots?
The fraction in question is
1212849+1083128491083
And was reached in calculating the solution to x4x1=0. I've tried all the standard methods, including (a+b)(ab)=a2b2, but that doesn't work for cube roots, because once you have the square of one the two middle terms will not cancel each other out.
