1) Median:
In a distribution, the center value of the data when listed in numeric order is termed as median.
The median is not react by the outliers in the data but the mean value is affected
It will used to explain the data in skewed distributions and ordinal scale data.
If the set of scores are arranged in numeric order, then the midpoint of the distribution is the median.
2) Mean:
The mean of a set observations is obtained by dividing the sum the observations by total number of observations.
It is a balance point for a distribution of scores. The value shifts in the direction which the balances as set of scores.
Hence, the mean represents the balance point of a distribution.
3) Mean:
The mean of a set of observations is obtained by dividing the sum the observations by total number of observations.
Characteristics:
- The sum of deviations of scores from their mean would always be zero.
- The sum of squared deviations of scores from their mean is minimal.
If the sum of the differences form mean is zero then it is termed as the zero point of the distribution.
