Equation: An equation is a mathematical statement that consists of an equal symbol between two functions, two quadratic equations, two linear equations of any variables...but not between the two different constant values.
Linear Equation and Quadratic Equation:
A linear equation is one such that its degree is one and it has one root.
2x+1=0 is a linear equation and x=12 is the solution.
A quadratic equation is one, whose degree is two and it contains two roots.
x25x+6=0 is a quadratic equation and 2,3 are the roots.
Rate: Rate is defined as a specific ratio that contains two terms of different units.
Ex: speed=distancetime(msec)
Ratio: A ratio is nothing but a statement that compares two numbers.
Ex: 3÷5
Proportion: Proportion is one that equals two ratios.
Ex: a÷b=c÷d
ab=cd
ab=bc
