Use the Pythagorean theorem:
\(\displaystyle{c}^{{2}}={a}^{{2}}+{b}^{{2}}\)
Where c is the hypothenuse's length and a&b are the cathetuses' length. Substitute from the given:
\(\displaystyle{c}^{{2}}={24}^{{2}}+{7}^{{2}}\)
\(\displaystyle{c}^{{2}}={49}+{576}\)
\(\displaystyle{c}=\sqrt{{625}}\)
\(c=25\)
The hypothenuse is 25 cm long.
