Step 1
When we are to negate the statement of the form "If A then B" then the statement should be replaced by "A and not B"
i.e the negation of the statement
"If A then B " is " A and not B"
Step 2
a) If it is snowing then it is cold.
Let statement A is "It is snowing" and statement B is "It is cold".
So the given statement is if 'A' then 'B'.
The negation of this statement will be -
'A' and not 'B'
i.e " It is snowing and it is not cold" Answer
b) If x(0,1) then x2<x
Let statement A is "x(0,1)" and statement B is "x2<x
The negation of this statement will be -
'A' and not 'B'
i.e. x(0,1) and x2<x Answer
c) If xT then xS and xU
Let statement A is "xT" and statement B is "xS and xU"
So the given statement is if 'A' then 'B'
The negation of this statement will be -
'A' and not 'B'
i.e. xT and xS or xU Answer
