To calculate: An even that occurs in the future may result in forward growth of percentage of women in labor force. It is good to use a square root function for modeling this trend.
The function, f(x)=3.5x+38 models the percentage of U.S women in the labor force, f(x) and x years after 1960.

Step 2
In this scenario, if percentage of women in labor force increases rapidly then, square root function would not be appropriate to model that trend.
Suppose percentage of women is 2020 becomes 90%, then by the given model in the example 6 i.e. f(x)=3.5x+38
Here on substituting 60 for x, we get,
f(60)=3.560+38
=3.5(7.74)+38
=27.09+38
=65.09
So, by using model, we get 65.09% but the percentage women is actually 90%, then the given function model won't give us the requires result of the ever-increasing trend.
