The highest number that will divide into both of the supplied numbers is known as the GCF, or greatest common factor, of the two numbers. It is possible to say that GCF is the number that contains all of the elements that both numbers share in common.

GCF of 10 and 20 will be:
10:1,2,5,10
20:1,2,4,5,10,20
Common Pairs: 1,2,5,10
Greatest Pair: 10
GCF=10

The lowest number that both numbers may be divided into is known as the Least Common Multiple (LCM) of two numbers. The lowest number is the common multiple of the two numbers, thus it may be claimed that the LCM of two numbers has both of the numbers as factors.

LCM of 6 and 12: 6:6,12,18,24,30,36,42,48,54,60
12:12,24,36,48,60
Common Pairs: 12,24,36,48,60
Smallest Pair:12
LCM=12
