GCF means the greatest common number which divides all the given numbers.
LCM means lowest common multiple of all the given numbers.
Step 2
For example, GCF of 2 and 8
Factors of 2 are 1 and 2
Factors of 8 are 1 , 2 , 4 and 8.
Among the factors 2 is the greatest common factor.
Therefore, GCF of 2 and 8 is 2.
Step 3
And LCM of 2 and 8
Multiples of 2 are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10,12........
Multiples of 8 are 8, 16, 24, 32.........
Among the multiples 8 is the least common multiple.
Therefore, 8 is the LCM of 2 and 8.
