Rewrite the function, recall that a=a12, so
r(t)=log3(t+t12)
Diffetrentiate both sides with respect to x
r(t)=ddt[log3(t+t12)]
Apply ddt[logb|u|]=1ulnb{dudt, let u=t+t12, so
r(t)=1(t+t12)ln3ddt[t+t12]
Therefore,
r(t)=1(t+t12)ln3(1+12t12)
Simplify
r(t)=1+12t12(t+t12)ln3
or
r(t)=1+12t(t+t)ln3
