If the base, b > 1, then it shows exponential growth. If it is 0 <b <1, then it shows exponential decay.
Note that even though the base is greater than 1, the exponent’s form can result to the exponential function's range having BOTH positive and negative values. Therefore, this function neither represents an exponential growth nor an exponential decay.
