An accurate trend line passes through the middle of the data such that about half of the points lie below the line and about half of the points li above the line.
Thus you can draw an accurate trend line hy make sure that the straight line you draw passes through the middle of the group of data. while following the same direction as the points and making sure that about half of the points are on either side of the straight line.
