Notice that the number of muffins, y, is 6 times the number of pans, x, since x=3 pans gives y=3(6)=18 muffins and x=5 pans gives y=5(6)=30 muffins. The linear function is then y=6x. Substituting x=4 pans then gives y=6(4)=24 muffins.
