$$\displaystyle{\left(\frac{{X}}{{2}}\right)}+{\left(\frac{{5}}{{6}}\right)}={\left(\frac{{X}}{{3}}\right)}$$ ( multiply both sides by 6 )
$$\displaystyle{6}{\left(\frac{{X}}{{2}}\right)}+{\left(\frac{{5}}{{6}}\right)}{6}={6}{\left(\frac{{X}}{{3}}\right)}$$
$$3 X + 5 = 2 X$$ ( add - 2 X to both sides )
$$3 X - 2 X + 5 = 2 X - 2 X$$
$$X + 5 = 0$$ ( add -5 to both sides )
$$X + 5 - 5 = 0 - 5$$
$$X = - 5$$
