Suppose you catch a baseball and then someone invites you tocatch a bowling ball with either the same momentum or the samekinetic energy as the basball. Which you would you chose? EXPLAIN.
Im not sure what do do here.
p=mv,K=12mv2

since this has to be a completely inelastic collision i wasthining that all the bowling balls kinetic energy is going to gotozero, however, in an inelastic collision momentum is conserved, soI'm not really sure what this all means or how to determine whichis a betterchoice momentum or kinetic energy.

1.As you are supposing, the best choice would be the samemomentum for the just time you are catching the ball, for being aninellastic collision. In an inelastic collision, the kinetic energyis lost.
2.You can write the kinetic energy in terms of the momentum as:
K=p22m.
