According to Equation 20.7, an ac voltage V is given as a function of time t by V=V_0sin(2pift), where V_0 is the peak voltage and f is the frequency (in hertz). For a frequency 57.0 Hz, what is the smallest value of the time at which the voltage equals one-half of the peak value?

Given that:
V=12V0=V0sin(2πft)
12=sin(2πft)
2πft=sin1(0.5)
=0.524 rad.
thus the smallest value of t is
t=0.5242πf
=0.5242π(57 Hz)=1.46×103 s
